The 3L130277B injector type has gained notoriety due to a known issue with its piezoelectric actuator – the small capsule located on top where the electrical connector is situated. The stack of piezoelectric crystals within the actuator tends to crack or break over time. This degradation leads to a significant drop in electrical resistance, plummeting from the standard 180-210 kiloohms to a mere 5 kohms or less. While electrical resistance isn’t the primary function of the actuator, measuring it becomes a reliable method to determine if the crystal stack is mechanically compromised.
